Jars
I've been using my scrapbooking supplies to decorate all kinds of jars, like this one. This jar is painted with sealed chalk paint to make it white. The lid has a drawer pull through it and the flower on the front is paper. These are so much fun to make!

Rooster/Home Decor
I was given this ceramic rooster by a neighbor, who knows that I love to repurpose and redo old stuff. This little guy was a multitude of colors before I redid it to fit the decor I like. Now, his pearlescent finish and faux gem eyes add just what I thought this guy needed to make him presentable...
The first coat of paint is chalk paint by Amy Howard. The second coat was my own mix of the color of chalk paint I wanted, then I added a pealescent finish with Inka Gold, and sealed with an acrylic all-purpose type sealer. Last, I added the little faux diamonds for his eyes.
I love how he turned out, don't you?

Old Photo Frame for Serving Tray
A good friend of mine found this old frame at a garage sale, which I painted, added a handle and pretty paper to the inside, and put chipboard on the bottom. Now, this beautiful serving tray makes and excellent home accessory for the coffee table...

More Art Journaling...
Here, I used my art journal to illustrate a favorite quote: Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

End of School Year Scrapbook Mini Album
Last week was my daughter's last day of school and I wanted to give my daughter something special, that would help her remember this past year of school. Being a room mom this year has been something I had always wanted to do, but until this year, I always worked outside the home which made it impossible to volunteer for the many events during the school year that only occur during school hours. Since I now work at home, I was blessed with the chance to finally attend field trips, parties, and special events at school that I never had the chance to attend before. As a result, I took a lot of photos and collect some of the momentos that I used to find in my daughter's agenda at night when I got home from work. I decided to make a mini scrapbook for my daughter and her best friend at school. I made two, one for my daughter and one for her best friend. Here they are:

Art Journaling
This picture is a photo of the cover of the art journal I am currently using. This art journal is an altered book that I gessoed both inside and out so that I would be able to use various mediums, like ink, stamps, pencil, and various types of paints.

The above pages are pages created in an art journaling class regularly held on Wednesdays at my favorite gallery, Muse Galleria, in Sarasota, FL. The class facilitator is Donna Gaunttlett, AKA the Dizzy Dandelion! The class features journaling prompts and good fun centered around creativity and usually donuts, pastries, or scones along with coffee (Starbucks if we're lucky)!Friday, May 9, 2014
